Who can remove a fallen tree after a storm in Broward County or Miami-Dade? Martin's Tree Solution can. We're a family-run, licensed and insured tree company based in Miami Gardens that cuts up and hauls away fallen and storm-damaged trees across both counties — off houses, cars, fences, driveways and pools — and you can reach us in English or Spanish at (786) 585-3351.

Storm Clean-Up

What to do when a tree comes down

First, safety. If the tree is touching a power line — or you can't tell — stay away from it and from anything it's touching, keep everyone well back, and report it to FPL at 1-800-4OUTAGE. Don't try to cut or move a tree that's tangled in lines; only FPL can make those lines safe.

Second, photos. Before anything is moved, photograph the tree, where it fell and every bit of damage — roof, fence, car, screen enclosure. If it hit the house, call your insurance company to open a claim. Then call us: we come out, look at how the tree is resting on whatever it hit, and give you a written quote to cut it off the structure, remove it and haul everything away.

Third, be careful who you hire. Crews knock on doors after every storm. Ask for proof of insurance before anyone climbs onto your roof: an uninsured crew that damages your house, or gets hurt on your property, can become your problem. We're licensed and insured, and we'll show you the certificate. Call or text (786) 585-3351.

Fallen trees: who handles what

Not every fallen tree is the homeowner's to clear. Here's how it usually breaks down.

On Your Property

A tree that falls on your house, car, fence or yard is usually yours to clear, even if it came from the neighbor's side — and when it damaged a structure, your homeowner's insurance is the place to start. We cut it off the structure, remove it and haul the wood and debris away.

Tangled in Power Lines

Lines from the pole are FPL's responsibility. Report it at 1-800-4OUTAGE and wait until FPL has made it safe. Once the lines are clear, we can remove the tree.

In the Street or Swale

A tree blocking a public road, or one that grew in the city right-of-way, is usually the city's or county's to clear. In Miami-Dade, report it to 311; in Broward, call your city's non-emergency line.

Leaning, Cracked or Hanging

Not every storm tree is on the ground. A leaning tree with lifted roots, a split trunk or a broken limb hung up in the canopy can come down later. Florida law (section 163.045) lets a homeowner remove a tree on residential property without a local permit when a certified arborist or licensed landscape architect documents that it's a danger — keep that letter with your photos.

Fallen trees after a storm — common questions

What homeowners ask us when a tree comes down.

Who can remove a fallen tree after a storm in Broward County?

Martin's Tree Solution removes fallen and storm-damaged trees across all of Broward County and Miami-Dade. We're licensed and insured, based in Miami Gardens, and we give you a written quote before we start. Call or text (786) 585-3351.

Will my insurance pay for fallen tree removal?

It depends on your policy and on what the tree hit. Homeowner's policies often cover removal when a tree damages a covered structure, like the house or a fence; a tree that fell in the yard without hitting anything often isn't covered. Call your insurer, and keep your photos and our written quote for the claim.

What if the tree is on a power line?

Stay away and report it to FPL at 1-800-4OUTAGE. Only FPL can work on the lines from the pole; once they've made it safe, we remove the tree.

Do you haul away the wood?

Yes. Hauling away the wood and debris is part of the job, unless you'd like to keep some of it.

What does it cost to remove a fallen tree?

Storm jobs are priced like any removal: by size, access and how the tree is resting on what it hit. Rough ranges for Miami-Dade in 2026 dollars: simple removals (smaller trees, clear drop zone, no permit) $300–$700; medium jobs (30–50 ft trees, sectional rigging, light permit) $800–$2,000; large/technical (60+ ft trees over structures, specimen permits, mitigation plantings) $2,500–$5,000+. Stump grinding bundled with removal: typically $80–$300 per stump depending on diameter. You get a written quote on-site before we cut.
